										Coming from
										Shanghai where
one now could hardly keep up with its
										pace of modernization and globalization,
I am always curious about other
										languages and cultures. I studied
										German, French and Japanese briefly.
										Through comparative linguistics, I can
see that despite the different sounds,
characters, symbols, rules, or the lack
hereof, that we employ in languages, we
express the same feelings of love and
hatred, happiness and sadness, etc. We
are basically the same. With a more
										comprehensive understanding of other
languages, I am now more eager than ever
to share my own linguistic and cultural
experiences with others. After all, what
is national is also truly international.
