Hi, my name is Michiyo. I graduated from Tsuda College in Tokyo , Japan and I came to the United States in 1991 with my family. While raising my two daughters I worked as a tutor for students of Japanese at Foothill College. Currently I teach at San Francisco Japanese Language School and at LanguageArts. It is a great joy for me to see students absorb knowledge and improving their language skills.

Right now my house is an empty nest: My elder daughter works in Japan and my younger one is a Junior in college, but my husband and my job keep me busy and I really like it!

To learn a foreign language is to learn about its culture and its way of thinking. I hope that I will be able to help you learn Japanese some day!
